Time Passages a Documentary by Kyle Henry
Time Passages
As a pandemic rages across the globe, filmmaker Kyle Henry experiences the final months of his mother Elaine’s late-stage dementia. Henry uses his family’s extensive home movie archive to travel back in time, exploring the complicated bonds of identity, history, and belonging in his large Texas family. Charting Elaine’s promising early life through her years of motherhood and self-sacrifice, finally tracing their relationship to its inevitable end, Time Passages playfully explores Kyle’s conflicting feelings of love, grief, guilt, and helplessness.
For 30 years, Kyle has traversed film forms to bring authentic stories of interrelationship to audiences at fests, theaters, and streaming platforms. His works, including Room, University Inc, American Cowboy, and Foreplay, have premiered at Sundance, Cannes, and other leading festivals.
Filmmaker Kyle Henry will be in attendance at this special event, and on site for a post screening Q&A. This event is co-sponsored by AIFF and the Oregon Center for the Arts at SOU. Use code “AIFFTIMEPASS25” to receive a discount on tickets.
