APRIL 24-27, 2025 at the Historic Varsity Theatre in Ashland, Oregon.
The Ashland Independent Film Festival is excited to share that we are returning to the spring!
Our 2025 Festival includes 16 features, shorts, and programs that include the Oregon premiere of documentary I Know Catherine, The Log Lady and our tribute to Catherine Coulson in the form of Working with Catherine featuring director Richard Green, OSF actors Miriam Laube and Kate Hurster, and local filmmaker Gary Lundgren.
“The Ashland Independent Film Festival is one of those festivals that works like a great chorus: all the elements - the town, the landscape, the venues, the programmers, the audiences, the other filmmakers - all work together and resonate in a wonderful and powerful way. Our first time at the festival we hope will not be our last…"
Alex Rivera, "The Infiltrators" AIFF2019
“What a wonderful film festival – it’s as cool as everyone has always told us! And everyone was just so kind and welcoming!”
Steven Bognar – American Factory
Since our humble beginnings in October of 2001, AIFF has grown into an international destination, drawing filmmakers and audiences from around the globe.
At AIFF, we're known for our warm hospitality and the exceptional quality of our programming, a festival beloved by both filmmakers and audiences alike.
Celebrating the diversity of human experience through the art of independent film by enriching, educating and inspiring all audiences.
The Southern Oregon Film Society was founded in 2001 and produces the nationally acclaimed Ashland Independent Film Festival (AIFF), as well as educational and cultural programs for more than 10,000 patrons annually. The AIFF's year-round programming includes a curated program of screenings in Ashland and other rural areas of festival favorites and new films.
Described as “like Sundance only warmer,” AIFF is set in the picturesque town of Ashland and provides an intimate setting that allows audience members from our rural area, filmmakers, and industry representatives a rare opportunity to interact over five days at various events including screenings, forums, conversations, educational programs, and informal gatherings.
